Asda customers can now return fashion items when they get grocery deliveries

Asda customers can now return their unwanted fashion items when they receive a grocery delivery free of charge.

Asda is trialling a new returns scheme for its George fashion line, allowing customers to hand fashion items they wish to return to online delivery drivers.

Customers in York and Milton Keynes who have booked a grocery delivery within the satisfaction guarantee period of the items they wish to return will now have access to the service.

Previously customers would have been required to visit a store or Post Office to return items.

It is understood to be the first retailer to trial such a service in the UK, and is largely in response to new pressures brought on by the pandemic.

“We’re pleased to offer George.com shoppers in York and Milton Keynes the option hand back items they’re not completely happy with to our Asda home shopping drivers, for a simple door-to-door delivery and returns service,” Asda’s senior director of operations development for online grocery Emma Ford said.

“We know that visiting a local store or collection point to send unwanted items back can be tricky if customers don’t live nearby or have the time.

“As we all get used to the ‘new normal’, online shopping is still extremely popular and this latest trial gives customers the convenience of doing everything from home.

“It means they can cross one more chore off the list without ever leaving the house.”
